Cover 3

Cover 3 divides the deep field into thirds, each corner takes a deep third and the FS plays deep middle. The SS rolls down into the box as the 4th underneath defender. This gives you an extra defender against the run while still keeping three deep. The tradeoff: only four underneath zone defenders, which creates soft spots in the intermediate zones, particularly the seams and flats.
